The wonder that is nature,
Always brightens up my day,
Watching a caterpillar\'s cocoon convert,
To butterfly wings on display.
The salmon doesn\'t study,
It doesn\'t dare to dream,
Instinct gives it the desire to spawn,
Even as death waits for it upstream.
A dog can track a opossum,
And make it climb a tree.
He can also pick up a fallen bird,
And bring it back to me.
Instinct is the thing that drives them,
In their quest to find a mate.
They seem to get together,
Without a single date.
They build homes with no book to guide them,
Or YouTube to show what\'s best.
No tips are given to lay their eggs,
In the safety of a nest.
They are always aware of danger,
They don\'t worry about how they dress.
They can fly south for the winter,
Without the need of a GPS.
Their skills all seem to suit them,
As they go about each task.
They work non-stop on what is needed,
And no one even has to ask.
