Cheeky Missy

O What a Day! (Day 2a)

(sonnet # CCLXXX)

Warm sunlight's golden cheer belated glows
In welcome dear, light blue skies partly clear,
With softest fluffy pillows floating here
And there, dispersing as morn ages those
Grey-bottomed remnants of the pri'r day's woes.
Anon revives their veiling gloom to smear
In playful games the afternoon's face near
And far, while Autumn shivers in her clothes.
Sweet radiance last illumes life as day wanes:
The gloaming so exquisite as pink's kiss
With peach gleams on horizon's lip remains;
Dying rays then streaking through mauve's mellow bliss
Alighting fall's rich rainbow scene 't'attains
A beauty unsurpassed, what treasure this!
