The End of Everything

The trip has begun
With rapid resolve
Into another realm,
An alternate reality.

The serpent skin
Sheds like a dress
Falling off a body
In the summer heat.

The end of everything
Is vividly revealed
To the one who
Enters the dark.

Enter in my child,
It’s gotten wild
As the hot wind
Off the desert sand.

The minister lies
Awake in the night,
Sending prayers up
For the deceased.

The dead dance,
While the living
Die in streets
Paved with gold.

Who has heard
The latent cries?
Who has survived
These strange days?

The mob controls
This horrifying
Realm of hell
We’re now in.
