At night I rest alone in my room,
But not on a bed,
My mind unravels and there I sit,
On a boats head.
I take a gander over the edge,
The view is just right,
I grab my rod and cast out a line,
And draw on my pipe,
I sit there and feel at peace with myself,
Just me and the moon,
Sitting and waiting for a pull of something,
Please not too soon,
I know I have a such little time,
Alone with the sea,
And although I get this every night,
I don’t wanna leave,
I don’t know if it’s the stench of the salt,
Or the crash of the waves,
But I know that I’m in peace out here,
I’m feelin’ so safe,
Every morning I pull up on the shore,
Just a little upstream,
To know that after a long day of work,
I’ll go fishing for dreams.
