Confessional

Li Po

 Next Poem

There was wine in a cup of gold
and a girl of fifteen from Wu,
her eyebrows painted dark
and with slippers of red brocade.

If her conversation was poor,
how beautifully she could sing!
Together we dined and drank
until she settled in my arms.

Behind her curtains
embroidered with lotuses,
how could I refuse
the temptation of her advances?

Dude, readig thru this I'm temped to say school homeworks are not the worst. I vaguely remembered readin' something like "wine in a cup of gold" when I was younger, kinda nostalgic and cool. Fave part's gotta be the "embroidered with lotuses" bit, it's just super visual you know.

OKAY, SERIOUSLY I'M HAVING SOME FEELS IN HERE. THAT'S DEEP, DUDES. LIKE, YOUNG LOVE AND TEMPTATION IN A CUP OF GOLD AND THE WHOLE SCENE, MAKES DOING HOMEWORK SORT OF COOL. LOVE IT, EVEN IF IT'S KINDA HEARTBREAKING. HAS SOME SICK VIBES!
