To the Moon

Percy Bysshe Shelley

Art thou pale for weariness
Of climbing heaven and gazing on the earth,
Wandering companionless
Among the stars that have a different birth, -
And ever changing, like a joyless eye
That finds no object worth its constancy?

WOW, THIS POEM IS A TOTAL NOSTALGIA TRIP! REMEMBER READIN IT IS HIGH SCHOOL. LOVED THE PART BOUT THE MOON BEIN LIKE A "JOYLESS EYE". GAVE ME CHILLS THEN, STILL DOES NOW. BUT I WONDER, WHY'S THE MOON THOUGHT OF AS 'COMPANIONLESS'? AREN'T ALL THE STARS ITS COMPANIONS? CAN SOMEONE CLARIFY THIS?
