Lines from a Canberra Stamp

Lady of the ample charms,
With a housemaid's hefty arms,
Why wave you that fish-bone high
'Gainst Canberra's murky sky?

Lady of the surplus skirts,
Do not hold that pose. It hurts.
Tell us, what is your intent
Toward that distant Parliament?

Do you wish to tell M.P.'s
That it's time for dinner, please?
Do you seek to call them out?
If not, what's it all about?

Dumpy lady, please depart,
You are nobody's sweetheart.
Lay aside your silly tray.
Thanks; we won't have fish to-day.
