Virtual Love Story

Soumita Sarkar

A wild fascination dragged me

to a picture and it’s profile

which I happened to see

in my friend’s friend list

My fingers clicked

the ‘Friend request’

It wasn’t a long wait

before she clicked ‘Accept’

Within few days

My entire ‘Shares’

Were yours

Your entire ‘Likes’

Were mine

Every picture you uploaded

Got my ‘Thumbs up’

Every blog I wrote

Got your pleasing stroke

One fine day

I send a message (Private)

‘Friend, can we meet?:)’

Her reply came instantly

‘I was waiting desperately J’

Next step wasn’t too late

We fixed up for a date

I ordered a coke, a pizza, a burger

She wanted something more to share

My sense and pocket had  all to bear

At last she said-‘This is my supper and

See!I am conscious of my figure’

We found we had nothing to talk seriously

Both of us failed to catch the ball cleanly

After the meeting the charm was falling apart

Arguments and silence was breaking my heart

Exasperated I gave her a piece of my mind

Last message flashed ‘You are not my kind’

No time I spend to get this was the end

On her account further words I couldn’t send

Dude, she was fast to render me ‘Unfriend’
