the voice inside

Skibbii

   The voice inside.

Well, it's nice to finally meet you

I've been waiting for your call..

I noticed you've been crying,

I've watched you pace the halls.

Whatever has been hurting you

I'll never leave your side,

We'll become quickly aqquainted

My naive child.

There is no use in trying to hide.

Let me introduce myself,

I'm your very own addiction!

You can not be angry with me...

I am your own self conviction.

I bet you feel stupid now,

Falling into my lap.

I am the master of manipulation,

You will never escape my trap...

How does it feel?

Dancing with the devil,

He & I are one in the same,

God has abandoned you,

Might as well stay in the game..

You honestly think you can beat me?

A useless battle if you want to know

Go ahead and try,

I'm in the mood for a good show...

I guess you think you're special!

Sober for a year,

I'm still on every corner.

In the back of your mind,

Your greatest fear.

I'll always be your dirty secret,

I won't ever disappear,

20 years from now you may falter

And I'll be the first to come to mind.

A vicious cycle,

That's what you're thinking,

But I'm only speaking the truth,

I am Satans weapon of mass destruction,

The silent killer of todays youth.

It's genius if you think about it,

Everyone is looking for some Armageddon war,

But what the fools don't realize is

Every day, Armageddon walks right through the front door.

Thank you! I've watched many people I love struggle with addiction, not all of them won the battle, they were the my muse with this poem.
