Are we Such

Are we Such

Are we such
that in order to see
We must touch the void
To witness
the unrelenting storm
Let insincere words
fall upon parched earth
laugh in the face
of adversity

are we such
that pain is but a word
carved within our memories
hidden from the insincere
exploited by controversy
defined by a rationale
that grew from
the minds of
a corrupt society

are we such
that we taint the earth
with greed driven ideals
blinded by blood stained wealth
and unmarked graves
that define our
tumultuous territories
populated by shape shifting
corporate shadows

are we such
exporting our poison into space
seeding other worlds
with our arrogant ignorance
our responsibilities
blinded by desire
and material wealth
turning the wheels
that we fashioned ourselves
