Away

CicakRusak

I dreamed of seeing foreign lands

The distant shores, the drifting sands

Of endless time from childish tales

To sail a ship with deep blue sails

Across the seas until I found

A land where I could settle down

And then at last I thought I saw

The way that I could have it all

I met a king, I kissed a boy

I had contrived a clever ploy

To dance beneath the dying sun

And let the scales fall one by one

Until the day at last you saw

That nothing was alright at all

And now you wish to right the wrongs

To raise to dead with pretty songs

But dreams will drift so far away

When there's no love to make them stay

Though I may take the long way home

And from the narrow path may roam

I still press onward toward prize

And still believe the Son will rise

Do not regret or for me weep

Just leave me be and let me sleep

For in my dreams I see strange lands

Carried along by drifting sands

Where time is lost in endless tales

Aboard a ship with deep blue sails
