Mirror Unfamiliar

The 2 A.M Writer

Hello

I see you through the glass

I don't remember your name

But that's okay

We're not so different me and you

I'm just your ghost

Your shadow

Your replacement

But my death will birth you again

My embraced grave

I've been snipping at your leaves for awhile

I ate the gray matter

I found your stem and snipped it

...

Suns are brighter

Grass is brighter

The fog will lift

As will the cement melt away

This is skilled writing. It toes a line between sadness and whimsy that makes it very satisfying to read.
