The Introvert's Anguish

mrsteww

I open my mouth
So words can come out
But these words don't make a sound
These words came out silent

And as I ponder why that is
My ponder is interrupted
By one who cannot wait
To hear what I have to say

As if their life depended on my answer
My answer must be the cure to their ear's cancer
Wait. Stop.
I didn't mean to offend

I got lost in the heat of my frustration
With those who like to start sudden conversation
And yet have ZERO patience.
Okay. Now, back to my anguish:

I move my hand
So words can be written
But these words don't make an illustration
These words cannot be seen

Then I started wondering
If I had properly wrote what I was feeling
Then suddenly, I became cognizant
Of my own social awkwardness

Oh how Introvertedness
Can truly be bliss
And sometimes never noticed
By me, or the extroverted

But when I do notice
It's already too late
And by then
There is only one thing that I could say...

....damn.

WELCOME MRSTEW ~ Thanks for a great first poem ~ Love th structure ~ love the subject ! The 21st C (in places like the UK & the USA) is an instant Society and it does favour the extroverts like Donald Trump who says whatever come into his head (and mostly gets away with it !). Extroverts have a knack iof stealing the limelight and we (more introvert) never get a chance to put our five pennorth in ! We get castigated for not saying anything ~ when we had a lot to say ~ but we were always trumped by the extroverts ~ who had little of value to say but said it anyway ! It is said there will be silence in Heaven for one hour ~ it might just give us a chance to say HALLELUJAH ! Cometh the hour ~ cometh the opportunity ! Thanks for sharing BRIAN
