Apologetic

Tropicana

Look I’m sorry if I wasn’t tough enough for you narcissistic ideals.

I’m sorry if I didn’t respond to your despotic attitude the way you would’ve liked.

I’m sorry I’m not someone else,

I’m sorry, but I’d like to think we’re star crossed lovers,

And I count myself as the one that got away,

And I’m sorry but your tyrannical persona was too much to handle,

I’m sorry, but I couldn’t stick out ‘for better or for worse’

Maybe in an alternate life our paths will cross ,

And I’m sorry that I pray:

The universe will try its best efforts to make sure our souls do not intertwine.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This goes out to you if your past relationships left you feeling as if you must apologise for everything unnecessary and that you own them something in return....love can be blinding.
