The Path

dmr90

For some odd reason
I deserve to feel this way
Been up now, counting...
Seven days straight
Not knowing, how I have stayed sane
Guessing, this is the price you pay
Whichever side you choose
The payouts are all the same
It is a shame, because honestly
Categorize me under loser, boring, unworthy
A lose-lose situation, that is unhealthy
With eyes wide open
I am finding the truth
About the people I once knew
Talking, yelling, sulking
In their own ignorant fumes
Who knew I would start slowing down too?
Fools...
I threw away the alcoholic crown
That would always be set, to let everyone down
Being Perfect? I never claimed to be
As you can see
My hands are more dirty than clean
Do not judge a life you have never seen
Lived or breathed
Through the fog, and the smoke screens
I have dreamed
Poisonous darkness will form, that is known
Then produces the requiem, and grabs a hold
Blindly, I will try my best
To find the hidden strength
Lifting this evil off my chest
Day by day, I never know what is next
Day by day, I never know what to expect
Taking nothing for granted
Always looking, searching...
For a piece of happiness, but...
We all know, it's almost an impossible task
Another year is gone
Life's fading fast
If I do not get away from this holocaust
I will be trapped
Then nobody would know
The good intentions I had
My story would consist of
The lonely bastard, the unruly trash
Forced to listen to them
Like I always have
My writing is dedicated
For those who wouldn't have my back
Or the ones who let me suffer
Through the black mass
Successfully, I burned the past
Triumphant, I rise from the ash
Next time you see me
I will just laugh, to let you know
Your demons were no trouble, masked
All you will hear is my new tune
Hum of my new song
See the sun that follows right along
Now, the toxin is finally gone
Dark skies open, colors brighten
Glowing, transcending the new path I am on.
