This is where I leave you

********************************************

The sun no longer rises on our love

We no longer wrap our hearts around one another

The time we shared has faded fast

and is becoming the past

This is where I leave you

Right where you want to be

Anywhere with anyone

Except for me

You always let every distraction

Take the place of me

Leaving me lonely

and now I see

This is where I leave you

Right where you want to be

Anywhere with anyone

except for me

WELCOME STEPHANIE ~ Thanks you for your first poem. There is a paradox between structure and subject ! It is elegantly written ~ replete with rhyme and rhythm ~ easy to read an recite. However the Subject (Love lost & rejected) drips with pathos. I am only 33 and have never been married (yet) but I have loved and lost so I can empathise in part. "The time we shared has faded fast and is becoming the past" so so sad. What is more tragic is that he chose to leave and made no attempt at reconciliation. I pray you will find a release from your loneliness. I trust you found this cathartic ~ it made me sad for you. Thanks for sharing and caring ~ Yours BRIAN (UK)

    Simply but elegantly stated.
