A South London , Back Garden In May

ses

Percy Sledge playing over the rooftops

Guinne pigs in the run,

Police sirens ring out in the background

So you know some ones time has come !

The poplars leaves sing a song in the breeze

Like ocean waves rolling in

While the ice cream van roles down the road

With chimes o so luring ,

The cats in the long grass

Birds are flocking in the tree,

Waiting to see who will make the run to the feeder

each one thinking not me !

A plane flies over drowning out all sound,

The cats now in the corner on the fence

Hoping to get through Without going round,

Then the dog runs out , the cat jumps up

The guinne pigs all make a squeal

The cat next door thinks he's been spotted

so quickly takes to his heals,

Whilst all this is happening i sit back in my chair

And take in the world around me,

And think to myself

IF WE DON'T WATCH OUT , WE COULD EASILY LOOSE THIS BEAUTY THAT SURROUNDS ME !
