Nothing inside

0ddity

Pay me no more mind
while my strings begin to unwind.
This decline feels more like a steep slope.
I watch all hope fall away
as this shell of a man begins to decay.
Im choking on the words that Im trying to say
as I bathe in the twisted ways of my thoughts.
My heart feels like an empty box.
I took all the contents out and eventually they were lost.

This is a sad poem. As I read it, I envision an empty shell of a person. Dwelling in sorrow encourages 'pity parties' not only for the poet but also the reader. I am looking forward to reading a happy poem from you.
