Laid to Rest

Autumn Breeze

Lay your burdens down,
In an endless grave,
Where the souls of the lost,
Can never be saved.

Lay your burdens down,
On the fields of regret,
With so much to gain,
And so much to forget.

Lay your burdens down,
On the bed of the sick,
Where they talk of the past,
As their memories stick.

Lay your burdens down,
When your shoulders are weary,
And your knees seem to crumble,
And your eyes become teary.

Lay your burdens down,
As you're laid down to rest,
Perhaps death do us part,
But forever's the true test.
