what I deserve

kaitywaity31

you know what I'm about yet you're still choosing to walk away

you saw me at my best and still made the decision not to stay

never thought it would end up like this

a messy wreckage that can't be fixed

in the beginning it was too beautiful for words

now all we have left is the aftermath, the hurt

just go leave, don't stick around to cause me more pain

I need you to not be here, sat staring at your lovable face

I guess I'm just attracted to women who don't know how to behave

where's the loyalty, the honesty.. all there is lies and betrayal

you wasted years of my life I could have given to someone else

who deserved my heart, not just selfishly used it for themselves

I want you out and I don't want you to ever come back through that door

I'm finished with everything you are, I don't need you near me anymore

I might miss you, and some days I will cry

but I will get over it, I will be just fine

because I now know exactly what I'm worth

and I'm definitely someone you don't deserve

so I hope you're happy wherever you might end up in the world next

thank you for my gift.. I won't ever settle for someone's second best

  • Comment from author about the poem: I have been in a situation where I have had a relationship where they just aren't the one for you.. it ended badly and as you grow up you learn everything happens for a reason. you meet people so they can teach you life lessons or just to help you realise what you deserve even if it ends badly.
