Today I Lost

gencruz

I just don't have it in me

To face the light of day.

I just don't have it in me to chase the fear away.

I've forgotten how to function,

I don't know who I am.

I'm supposed to face the world today,

But I just don't think I can.

My bed is my life boat,

If I step off of it I'll drown.

I just don't have it in me,

Depression won this round.

So maybe I'll stay inside today,

Because I just don't have it in me

and depression got it's way.

  • Comment from author about the poem: The struggles of dealing with depression. Sometimes it drains you to the point where you can't even leave your bed. P.s Just because depression won that day doesn't mean you can't beat it the next.
