Darkness

beautifulmind

Darkness walks beside me

His hand intertwined with mine

His cold breath cascades around me

His hands are like ice against my warm one

Darkness walks beside me

His black eyes stare deep into my soul

His ears like a stethoscope listening to my heartbeat

His footsteps like a familiar smell drawing me forward

Darkness walks beside me

His long arms like ice leading me forward

His pale hands pushing me into the unknown

His voice echos like were in a cave beckoning me forward

Darkness walks beside me

He walks with me down dark alleys

He walks with me down the empty winding stairs

He walks with me his feet crunching under the freshly fallen leaves of the forest

Darkness walks beside me wherever I go

Welcome to MPS! Great first poem. Nice flow to it. I would agree with notapoet to say that as we walk toward the light darkness will always follow. Can't wait to read more of your work. Happy New Year!

WELCOME BM ~ Thanks for very elegant first poem ~ but with a dark message. Where we walk and who walks with us ~ should be a personal choice ~ BUT ~ sometimes we have no choice ! Thanks for sharing ~ thinking of you ~ BRIAN (UK) Please check my poems ~ Best wishes for 2017 ~ B

One of the best I've read on this site for some time - great use of words that work so well together - I love it.
