The silence

Kevin Clark

The silence,

in here it's an absolute bliss,

a homely time bomb,

a dormant volcano,

a complex simplicity,

even still,

The Silence.

It couldn't be louder

to those that wish to hear it,

but then there are others,

the warriors,

the predators,

For they don't understand.

But to be prey,

to be weak,

to be incomplete,

to be but only a mirage.

The silence.

For those that can hear

the desperate call

from this structured imbalance,

they have the ultimate strength.

Its that of this sleeping giant,

for when it's awake,

For them it searches,

to them it relies on,

to them he finds peace,

tranquility,

yet, sound.

Around them,

No Silence.

  • Comment from author about the poem: For me this is about fighting your own head and the demons inside, constantly fighting alone whilst looking perfectly fine from the outside looking in, it\\\'s about finding that person or group of people in which you can share these demons and fight it together.

An expressive verse on a much needed subject - I agree silence is vital to the inner- fight . Welcome to this friendly site Kevin.
