The hour-glass

Alexis

Hour-glass
The screws are dropping
The henge's are falling
Your heart is aching
As your head is slowly ticking
The hour-glass is flipping
And your head is spinning
Your losing balance --
For the time is tipping
Lights and bells now glaring
You know you have to stop
But time keeps on pushing
Now for me, time almost out,
as the last few tears drop
Tick. Tock.
Tick. Tock.
Tickkkk--

  • Comment from author about the poem: Your mind and the earth begin to come to a halt. Your mind is trying to stop but just keeps pounding forward. The hour glass not only referred to your heart but also the fact that life feels like a minute. God also comes into play. The bells and the blinding lights show the connection between man and God that one feels at the end.
