Flowers

elsiewarrenswords

It was last night- when we both decided that it was time for our love to retire,
it was after you had gone,
that I realized my heart had been in your pocket for so long.
I put it there months and months ago - do you remember?

I didn't have the energy to look or check
I had spent that on being an emotional wreck.

It was only this afternoon that I found it. My heart.

It was laid among the petunias, part by part.
Glistening and reflecting the lovely March sun, each ray laying on my cheek, arms spread out, evaporating tonne after tonne (of hurt)
It was still in tact.

It just needed rest and what it lacked.
A little bit of tender loving care, sun and water

I honestly loved this. I don't usually tend to comment on poems but they way you describe heartbreak and the way you create the image of repair with sun and water is just beautiful and creative. I really loved this. 🙂

And this comment certainly made my day. Of all the things I've written, I was dubious regarding this one & I did question myself if anyone would like it at all...
so your comment made me glad of posting it😊 Thank you &
      Good day to you❣️
