horsemen would ride

When I was young, I lived by a dam

in the dam, horsemen would ride, taking trails 

into the sunset or the sunrise, and I'd watch them leave 

I'm an older man now

ive seen many sunsets and sunrises

and I go back to the dam, and there are horsemen, there

and they ride down trails into the horizon

and I felt sad as they go

because I've been left behind
