Don't

The 2 A.M Writer

Hear the shouting from 4ft above

Was daddy soothing again?

Sooth the sutures in his mouth

And the bitch didn't like it one bit

She's on the stairs now

He's at the bottom

God's storming feet

Now they're both running

Shouting, screaming, kicked up the dust again

Is it time to settle the score?

I watch from the bottom of the trench

Tongue out of teeth, never had a chance to bite it

She spat, oh she spat

And he in disgust, spat back

But no child shall ever spit

...

Be the better man

be the better baby

Be the better one

Don't be your father

...
