Straight and narrow

Gavin

I try to be a fisherman
Not for bass nor trout
But to the lost and broken
The disrespectful lout

So ill try to guide them
Against this very world's way
it's lure of gaining wealth
Virtues the thing that pays

We like to point our fingers
And Pass the blame about
But our choices make our life
But ethics we just flout

When did we get like this
The biased view of self
When it is in view
We tend to move in stealth

we love to see someone fail
As it makes us seem superior
Why are we competing
When the war is our interior

The path is jagged and rockey
To tread you must be bold
But the easy way is simple
We're protected amongst the fold

But the views are different
From these opposing trails
One is self defeating
The other never fails
