Grown Up Too Fast

gencruz

Little girl

I used to know

With pig-tailed hair

And bright pink bows

Is all grown up

Full of hurt

Still much too young

For all she's endured

Her youthful eyes

Have seen too much

Little hands

Are much too rough

She's just a child

But this world could care less

It broke her down

And stole away her innocence

Her feelings are so much colder

Her soul is locked away

She has learned

That the unguarded hearts

Are the ones always left to pay.
