Remember...

WG7

Remember when you were seven

And you thought you would go to heaven

Then it happened all at once

And then you got a response

You knew from then you would go to hell

Because you didn't stand when you fell

You are killing yourself with your thoughts

You didn't understand anything you were taught

Your home life

Made you use a knife

You always loved ropes

Because they'll crush your hopes

Why not OD? You ask yourself

Why not hit your head on a shelf?

Said to your parents you love bridges

You love falling off of branches

Always thought you could fly

Never thought anyone would cry

Said you wouldn't ever give up

Until that break up

That was the day you were done

That was the day you hated the sun

Why couldn't they all understand

That you won't ever lend a hand

Why the person broke you

They said they never really love you

Then it went dark...

There's a new person who hit your mark...

Another great poem by a great poet. You are a pure soul Amber, even though you find yourself shrouded by the darkness. I too wish I could go back to that innocence that was lost so young, but none of us can. With that said, within us all a piece (even if a small fragment) of that innocence remains. There's hope in that and I pray that one day, when looking back at all you've been through, you will see how precious that remaining innocence is. It is what guides us to seek a brighter future and what aides us in giving a damn for others who suffer like us. What's more, while hell screams loudly and obnoxiously at us, never lose sight of the fact that the reminder of the reality of HEAVEN is that still, small, quiet, but ever present voice within you. Even in the midst of the hell you may find yourself in, know that heaven is yours! Keep searching. Keep expressing yourself and allowing your poetry to be a purge of all the stuff that is plaguing you. The darkness is a great muse and poetry is such a great release! This I KNOW you get, and that is why you are such an honest and beautifully poetic soul! Great write!

Thank you trlange I always appreciate you commenting. You make some excellent points. You might not be able to go back or relive ur childhood but even if u get glimpse from it. It's amazing. You might find urself growing lonely over the years and want to go back to the past, but everything happened for a reason even if you hate it. Thank you for commenting it's really appreciated and I always love what you got to say.

You are welcome. Not everything is "meant to be", and somethings happen for no good reason at all because we live in a broken world where the ideal is seldom realized. That is an unfortunate reality. With that said, I do believe and have experienced that good can come out of the bad if we are open to such growth. Anyway, I am happy that you find my comments helpful and hope that you find the inner joy (even when you are not happy) that you so deserve. You will get there, I have faith. 🙂

Such a great poem, well done. Keep writing, as I know you will get through the darkness, and see light.
