The Juggler - Struggler

AuburnScribbler

He juggles here, he juggles there,

The polymath is everywhere,

Seeking much data on every level,

Develops knowledge like that of the Devil.

He juggles now, he juggles around,

The polymath is out and about,

Bowing his strings for fun and lament,

Creating an emotional pool of cement.

He juggles with prose and with verse,

The polymath composes his perverse,

Odes of joy and crude satire,

Writing words to create a fire,

He juggles with looks by many masks,

The polymath hones dramatic tasks,

To emote the tragedies of Sophocles,

Then robust street acts, so harsh, not ease.

He juggles with pots and his pans,

The polymath with his culinary plan,

Cooks up a dish which will tantalise,

Which the majority can only fantasise.

He juggles his cardio and aerobics,

The polymath wins gold at Olympics,

Flexing proud his body flawless,

Green with envy, we are nauseous.

He juggles his patter and his wealth,

The polymath purveys with good stealth,

From rags to riches is his story,

Suspicious we are of his glory.

Thus, we see a man who can juggle,

Although polymath, he does struggle,

For something could drop and be destroyed,

So help from you, could be deployed,

For internally he is such a mess,

Yearning for someone’s relief, caress

His heart by understanding,

He has head in clouds, he needs his landing,

Although skills he has, we do respect,

A spirit so kind, so to us no neglect,

Weeps inside so he becomes the struggler,

But for now, for you his is the Juggler.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This poem is another character study poem, and is about the the constant strife of perfection in the modern world and the pressures that come with it. In the world of celebrity they have the term "triple threat" meaning that they are somewhat a polymath, a "juggler" of skills, but often is the case that behind the scenes, all is not so well, and they are the constant "struggler" who need help from not one but a group of people - Their Audience. Who sadly via the tabloid culture, continue to take "The Juggler - Struggler" for granted. Hope you enjoy.
