The Pendulum

anoldwoman

The pendulum swings constantly

Marking the periods of life.

Never still, always changing

Bad to good, peace to strife.

The pendulum stopped at one end

As if someone held it in place

Now it's free and catching up

Regaining its natural pace.

So do not despair

You're part of the way there.

The zenith is passed.

It never could last.

Things will get better.

You wait and see.

Let that pendulum swing

And just "let it be".

Thank you. That's the most optimistic poem I've written yet and I think it means I'm recovering from my "adjustment disorder" I was worried that I could only write in pain.
