Lone Samurai and (another poem) Rage

poetboy5454

He was the last, for his kind was extinct

The Lone Samurai his blade was drawn

Against his foes, fighting became instinct

And no darkness could turn him to their pawn

Every strike he made, calculated and cold

So even today they tell his story so kids do as their told

However there was no reason that he battled on

Lack of purpose consumed him until he was gone

Rage

"You're a disappointment to your parents and to me."

This she snarled at him so he couldn't be free

"You're just selfish and you'll never change"

Despite the anger, he simply put the words out of range

However each night, it stirred within him

As he lay in bed, running through his limbs

A white-hot fury that he vowed to contain

For he was a coward, and didn't want to bring pain

So he endured the countless insults each day

Showing no bitterness, he had nothing back to say

Within him this rage began to flourish and grow

He knew it would be his ultimate foe
