Shalom

Maria Lees

I cried today for the olive trees

Torn from the ground with impunity,

A mother screams she's asking how

Is she supposed to feed them now?

The ten commandments you received

That distant past,when you believed,

Now you continue your evil ways

You break the tenth one very day.

At the wailing wall you stop to pray

I wonder what would Moses say,

The carnage wreaked, was that his plan,

To plunder someone else's land?

Good soldiers hang your heads in shame

You only have yourselves to blame,

This is a Nazi de ja vu,

They followed orders just like you.

Come all you righteous Israelites

Make a stand,you know what's right,

He said "To thine own self be true"

Remember,God is watching you.

Usurpers of another's land

Your soldiers kill at your command,

I'll toast you now in bitter wine

I cry today for palestine.
