A Praying Mantis
There was a praying mantis
That preyed upon a bee
I saw it as it happened
And barely could believe
With its long arms
He caught it in a flash
And used his powerful jaws
To cut the thing in half
I’m sad to say a butterfly
Was a victim too
As the mantis ate it up
As predators will do
I wished there were a bird
To snatch the mantis up
But I did not see one there
To catch the one corrupt
If the bird ever happens
I’m sure I’ll be thrilled
And love the bird ever more
With a mantis in its bill
