Friendship

Friend I ask one last thing,
And that is to walk with me.

But tread slow won\'t you?
This isn\'t your own path.

I\'ve put on the wrong shoes,
and I seem to tread toward danger.

I know it\'s a great big hassle,
But this is the last Ill ask from you.

Because the path behind us,
Sticks to the bottom of my shoes.

And it seems the weight I can\'t shed,
Is going to lead me right back.

And I get confused which way is which,
So I\'m glad you finally agreed.

Now when I walk from truth,
You\'ll lead my feet back home.

But that\'s not all why I asked,
See I asked you to walk my path, beside me.

And we don\'t ever stop walking until death,
So stay by my side, to the very end, my dear friend.
