slow rot
i saw a man puke up blood
while campaigning against cancer
he drank a ton and stumbled around
until he lost his lunch
i called an ambulance and played talking heads to pass the time
and the cops showed up
he just moved on
and into his ride
like he hadn’t lost some lining
if he dies, he dies the grim man said
as he got back to writing tickets
terrible luck for the man on the bench
i think he’s probably gone
what rot he must have
inside of his chest
to just leave all of his blood
