midnight drive

Father forgive me

Be sure to raise your white flag again,

Because these memories are sure to hurt like hell.

And father, please, forgive me for I have sinned.

But these promises are just too hard to keep,

too hard for me.

I just want some sleep.

Just for tonight.

Just one night\'s sleep,

without your saddened face under my closed eyes

screaming words of praise

for the lies I\'ve told,

and fictitious titles I hold.

So let\'s just run a marathon on broken glass

because surely that\'d hurt you less than

my broken promises,

and every time I confess

That this bullshit is hard to digest.

So father forgive me.
