A Dangling Minnow
A plastic minnow on a limb
Dangled above the ground
Lost by a fellow fisherman
With a bobber too I found
With some work I had the lure
And I was lucky I thought
To have the bait a colorful one
For me at no cost
I tied it on that sunny day
And fished a little while
I caught a nice fish or two
That made me grin a smile
As I was casting everywhere
The little bait got hung
In a very obvious place
And shining in the sun
With the lure dangling there
It was then that I knew
The minnow belonged to the lake
And my turn with it was through
