The Man on the Lake

The tears flowed to the side of the misty pane

From which I observed a man in the drizzling rain.

Solitary: as a bird of prey in their kingdom above

The Man on the Lake fit in his domain like a hand and a glove,

Surrounded by islands - yet he never felt small,

For there sat a titan wondered by all.

He rowed steadily along to no one knew where

We could only guess, but he could only dare.

The longer I stared...the further I was from the Man on the Lake.

My mind reached out but my body knew it was a mistake

His silhouette shrunk to some insignificance

That I moved on with life, ignoring the magnificence.
