Tune: St Helen (or Regent Square)
(\'Lord of Lords, and King eternal\')
Psalm 76
********
God is known in Judah\'s country
His name great in Israel
In [Jeru]Salem His tabernacle
Dwelling place in Zion all
There breaks He the arrows of bow
Enemies His power know
He breaks too the sword and the shield
In the battle, His foes yield
he more glorious, excellent
Than mountains where our feet went
The stout-hearted are spoiled, have slept
Their sleep, mighty guard not kept
At your rebuke, God, we hear, tell
How at exodus there fell
Chariots and horses drowned were
They your judgement did incur
They dead, set to rise no more for
You displayed your power sure
You, even you, are to be feared
Who unto you has here veered?
Who may stand when you are angry
You caused judgement [to] be heard, see
From heaven, the earth it did hear
And was still, it did you fear
When God did arise to judgement
To save the meek, penitent
Then earth feared you, and too as due
The wrath of main shall praise you
The remainder of wrath you shall
Restrain, your power ne\'er fail
Vow, and unto the LORD God pay
Your promises, what you say
Let all that be around Him bring
presents, and unto Him sing
Him that ought to be feared always
He Lord of eternal days
He shall cut off the spirit, He
Shall deal with the princes, see
He is terrible to the kings
Of the earth, tributes each brings
For He is Lord high over all
Yet near all who on Him call
