down at the fishing hole
i dont use a fishing pole
i do it with a handline
and it works just fine
theres weeds i have to pass
hopeing for a large mouth bass
big enough to eat for a week
i know grandaddy is there
i see him when i come here
one time he took the hook
then let it go
guess he didnt care for the dough
from now on ill use a different bait
then sit down to wait
some day he\'ll be mine
and like a king i will dine
