All my life I thought I tamed the monster.
Thought I locked it deep inside myself and threw away the key. I thought I was free that the monster would never return. I had won. But the monster returned stronger than ever. So I went to check the cage to find it empty. The lock untouched the cage just as together as the day I left. I was baffled. That’s when it hit me. I never locked the monster up. There was no monster inside me. Cause the truth was the monster was me all along I just made up a story to convince myself I had hope. There is no hope where I’m concerned though... cause I’m the monster.
