Orchard Pears
The pear trees were a sight
Each spring of the year
With an orchard white
And swallows as overseers
In the orchard was serenity
And satisfaction we knew
Each summer while working hard
Picking the abundant fruit
A pear enjoyed in the field
Was refreshing to everyone
And was more juicy than an apple
And golden in the sun
And we worked hard
On preserves that we made
And won blue ribbons some
As granny did in her day
Each year we celebrated
At the fruit all around
And thanked our little orchard
For the serenity we found
