Sunset Feelings

Sunset sucking my dreams, wanting to chase it, fly into it like Icarus
What am I chasing? Time, life, The in-crowd you see on the silver screen you yearn to be a part of?

Fleeting happiness.
So strong with sweetness and hope, it hurts to swallow.
Mere minutes in a day of 24 hours.
We crave it. We hope for it. We want it to be the soundtrack of our lives.

Darkness is coming and you desire to chase the endless sunset. Take me, don’t leave me.
Darker, the dark side is closing in. Is it evil?

The green flash at the conclusion is all we look for, hope for, wonder.
Is the sunset a tribute to me or is it for my God?
How many more are remain in my lifetime?
Who is the artist that paints these feeling into my soul?

Birds cheer and leaves roar in applause and thanks. A new day arises in a few short breathes, in this short life of years put into hours.
