Eagle Morning
It was again Saturday
Early at 4 AM
When I donned my hiking boots
To see my eagle friends
The birds were my true goal
For hiking that frigid day
And soon I’d see them soar
In their majestic way
I sat on an icy seat
In my insulated clothes
Glad to be finally
Close to where they’d show
I heard a barn owl hoot
As I waited for the sun
And thought his call was too
From a raptor one
The sun finally dawned
Beside the rippling stream
And i saw eagles there
As if they were a dream
