Of Music & Art & Commerce & Science
Wherever the STARS & S TRIPES are unfurled !
Discovered in 1492 ~ A land of Beauty & Plenty
Others followed & discovered anew
All that America had to offer
Colonised by the RICH and the POOR ones too !
In 17 hundred and 76 America became a NATION
Then the thirteen States became fifty
And forty-six Presidents ~ came & went
Mostly GOOD but some BAD & some SHIFTY
Today we celebrate ~ THANKSGIVING DAY
For the Pilgrim Fathers that landed
Had their First HARVEST ~ sixteen - twenty - one
Convinced that The Good Lord had planned it ~ AMEN !
The Language is ENGLISH ? YES ! The UK played a part
In Colonization ~ straight from the start
BUT Children grow up and soon flee the Nest
So AMERICA did ~ like the Colonial rest !
So let us give thanks for The US of A
Allies of UK ~ in two World Wars
We rejoice with you ~ this Thanksgiving Day
And know in the WORLD ~ We serve a Common Cause !
WE PRAY FOR JOE BIDEN ~ PRES - IDENT ELECT
And MALALA His VP ~ who stepped up to the PLATE
We PRAY He*ll unite this NATION SELECT ~ With
MALALA ~ Lady of Colour ~ as His Running Mate ~ AMEN !

WE have attended THANKSGIVING DINNERS in America & American Homes in the UK. It *Sounds a lot like Christmas* but the experience is completely different. Rather like a Burns Supper ~ you should experience an American Thanksgiving Dinner at least once in Your Life !
