Color of Our Skin

It doesn\'t matter whether you are black, white, or yellow.
To us, you are just another fellow.
Another face among the crowd,
why would we treat you differently? It would only leave you in a shroud.
A shroud of despair only a few can overcome,
and when we all come together to accept each other, we\'ve won.
As people and human beings, we can show compassion for each other by accepting not what we are, but who we are.
Why do we need the color of somebody\'s skin to show how we should treat them, near or far?
It should be a given that living amongst each other in harmony should bring us closer together,
but the bond that we show between each other almost seems as light as a feather.
