Uncaring Touch

The moment he reached for my breasts

I froze up

My inner fear awakened by my anger

My skin felt cold

My head felt heavy

My body, numb with fear, tried to squirm free of his uncaring touch

I remembered the advice of my mother:

“Be obedient to your new husband!”

But brave me

I never kept a jumble of meaningless words in my head
