Tune: Diademata
(\'Crown Him with many crowns\')
*******
On through the countryside
Many passages hide
Through greenery, or seasons scene
Bare land of Winter seen
Or Spring\'s new growth once more
God\'s faithfulness for sure
Or Summer\'s foliage displayed
Or Autumn\'s hues arrayed
You, Creator of all
Of all things, great, small, tall
Here pathway runs, with ditch beside
Flora, fauna reside
A ditch on either side
Safe on the path to bide
Walking along \'neath tops of trees
Your wonders each one sees
Discovering tracks long
Deserted from great throng
Though pleasant rambles folk do take
And do enjoyment make
In wisdom, Lord, you do
Make all things and renew
Creation to your glory points
Your land the dew anoints
On down overgrown way
\'Tis public way, we may
Enter therein, but years gone by
Make difficult to try
To still follow the route
Attempt it we may moot
But changed since forty years ago
O\'erburdened with hedgerow
Nostalgia, reminisce
Of days gone by, but this
Needs be our aim, to onwards go
More of our Lord to know
Whether good days or bad
The past times we have had
Now pressing on with Christ the Son
Until life\'s journey done
